3/5: They have assuredly listened to lots of Pink Floyd.
There's little chance of The Asteroid #4 getting past the fact that they were born 40 years too late. There's an equally slim chance of letting them slip by without any Syd Barrett comparisons. Outside -- full of liquid pastoral references to kingfishers and meadows -- and the galloping Ask Me About Pittsburgh are straight out of some lost Barrett songbook, all echoing, loose-stringed guitars and speaker-shredding fuzz. A cover of The Church's To Be In Your Eyes, meanwhile, veers into My Morning Jacket territory, showing a versatility and empathy that keeps them comfortably on the right side of mere tribute. - Andy Fyfe
